A51 Coynelle - Col du Fau motorway section

> Description du projet

The project concerns a 10.5 km motorway section of A51 in a mountainous area (French Alps). Altitudes vary from +600 m to +900 m.

The section includes 3 non standard structures:

  • The Sinard tunnel, a 950 m long 2 tubes tunnel. When the motorway will be open to trafic, only 1 tube will be used, the other one will serve as safety issue. 4 galleries link both tubes. Major quantities : 150,000 m³ of cut, 50,000 m³ of concrete
  • The Monestier viaduct is a 860 m long bridge with a miwed frame (steel - concrete) - nine 110 m, long spans and a maximum height of 70 m. Major quantities: concrete 20,000 m³, steel 3,600 t
  • Marceaux and Collet du Signard retaining walls: surface 46,000 m²

The section comprises 1.8 million m³ of cut and 1.6 million m³ of filling with 11 standard bridges.

Egis Route has performed the full project management. The services have included:

  • Detailed design (including review of the preliminary design)
  • Preparation of tender documents and specifications
  • Assistance to the owner for topographic survey, communication, geotechnics and environment
  • Procurement: tender evaluation and preparation of works contract
  • Construction drawings checking
  • Works supervision: works inspection, financial follow-up, claims management, final inspection
