A89 Clermont-Ferrand - Bordeaux motorway
> Description du projet
Declared as being of public interest on 10 January 1996, the A89 motorway is the first transverse motorway running east - west between Bordeaux and Lyons. It is a 2x2 lane motorway, 288 km long.
Sections under Egis Route project management:
- Libourne west - Coutras: 25.9 km, 38 standard bridges, 3 viaducts (161 m, 166 m & 193 m)
- Coutras - Montpon: 21.8 km, 30 standard bridges (incl. 3 for wild animals)
- Montpon - Mussidan: 26 km, 26 standard bridges, 1 viaduct (307 m long composite deck)
- Cublac - Brive west: 19 km
- Brive west - Tulle east: 40 km
- Tulle east - Ussel west: 43 km
- Ussel west - Ussel east: 15 km
- Ussel east - Le Sancy: 25 km
5 exceptional viaducts:
- Barricade (430 m, prestressed concrete)
- Clidane (540 m, prestressed concrete)
- Chavanon (360 m long suspension bridge, composite deck)
- Barrails, crossing flood-prone areas (1,460 m, precast prestressed concrete)
- Mascaret, over the Dordogne (540 m, composite steel & concrete)
Several crossing for animals
Other equipment: toll equipment, rest areas, operation and maintenance centres, operating equipment (traffic, telecommunications, etc.) and safety.

Egis Route was awarded a full project management and an assistance to the owner for the entire project. This assignment included project management, preliminary studies, concept and detailed design, liaison with local authorities and neighbouring public, assistance for works contracts, construction co-ordination, quality controls and quality insurance, supervision of specialized sub-consultants, assistance for final acceptance.
