Indonesia
The project consists in the construction of a nickel (and cobalt) ore mining complex. The site of the mine is situated on the Halmahera island in Indonesia (Weda Bay area). The work concerns the mine earthworks, plants for the ore treatment and infrastucture facilities.
The project cost is higher than 2 billion US$. It will allow Eramet to launch the mine operating phase in 2013. The nickel production target is 60,000 t. This will require the extraction and treatment of about 10 million m³ per year.
The Egis scope of work concerns the whole infrastructure facilities: access roads, road and other networks, 1 port with its own facilities (storage area, loading and unloading area and equipment, handling, etc...), platforms and foundations (factories, storage units, tailings, basins, etc.), earthworks (on mountainous terrain), administrative and accomodation buildings, water intake (river, sea) and rejections, etc.
The 1st phase (2007-2008) is PFS (prefeasibility study): CAPEX estimated +/- 20 %. After decision by Eramet, the BFS (bankable feasibility study: 2008-2009) and the construction phase (procurement & construction management: 2010-2013) will follow.
Egis Route is providing the project organisation directed by Technip, awarded by PTWBN (Eramet), the whole infrastructure engineering services, which will lead to an EPCM contract (engineering, procurement & construction management services). The first phase is in progress. The work imparted to Egis Route in association with other Egis specialized department concerns following output:
