Energy transportation

A new challenge

Egis Route is developing new skills in the field of energy transportation including overhead and underground electric lines as well as gas, LNG (Liquified Natural Gas), oil and water pipelines.
Our experience and expertise of large scale infrastructure projects for linear transportation systems enable us to offer a complete design and construction supervision service to network operators.

Innovative solutions

Following the storm of December 1999, RTE (manager of France’s electricity transport network) started a vast program to strengthen pylons with Egis developing and proposing an innovative technique to reinforce pylon foundations.

Following the success of the pilot phase, RTE has entrusted Egis Route with an EPCM (Engineering Procurement and Construction Management) contract for the pre-industrial phase. Egis Route will reinforce the foundations of 54 pylons in Aquitaine, Brittany, Auvergne and the Lyons region. This phase should be followed by the industrial development of the process in the third quarter of 2010. If it is successful, the patent will be commercialised internationally.
