July 5th, 2010: Official Opening of the A75/A9 link

On July 5th, Dominique Bussereau (Secretary of State in charge of Transport) inaugurated the new A75/A9 link with Raymond Couderc (Senator and Mayor of Béziers), Elie Aboud (MP for the Hérault) and Pierre Coppey (CEO of ASF and Chairman of Vinci Autoroutes).

The A75 links the A71 (from Clermont-Ferrand) to the A9 (in Béziers) and is the highest motorway in France. Apart from the Millau viaduct with its 2.460m roadway spanning the Tarn Valley and its 343m pile -the highest in the world-, the 334km of the Méridienne motorway are toll free.

ASF is the contractor. The project management was assigned to Setec International (design phase leader), Egis Route (construction phase leader) and Egis Mobilité.

The project was carried out under traffic. A 25,000 veh/day AADT, including 9% heavy goods vehicles, is expected for 2011.

Cost of construction (excluding the Devèze link): €123M including taxes
