ITER multimodal platform: earthworks construction
The Commissariat à l’Energie Atomique (CEA de Cadarache - Atomic Energy Commission), acting on behalf of the ITER France agency, has awarded Egis Route the construction management of the earthworks contract for the ITER platform.
The works, on a site covering 40 ha, includes:
- the earthworks for the platform (2 million cubic metres of excavation, 1 million cubic metres of fill)
- the drainage works for the platform
- preparatory works for the perimeter fence around the area
- the construction works for the access track to the platform
Completion time for the works: 10 months
Egis Structures & Environnement (Egis Géotechnique) will be working as subcontractor for laboratory external control, and OPSIA for the topographical external control.
